Popular pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ identity, community, and activism through parades, festivals, performances, and more. Many cities worldwide hold unique events tailored to their culture and history, and some pride events attract hundreds of thousands to millions of attendees. Here are some of the most popular ones.

North America

San Francisco Pride (USA)

  • Date: Last weekend of June
  • Highlights: Known for its deep ties to LGBTQ+ history and activism, SF Pride spans the weekend with parties, concerts, a massive parade, and the Castro Street Fair. It’s one of the most colorful and politically vocal pride celebrations globally.

New York City Pride (USA)

  • Date: Last weekend of June
  • Highlights: NYC Pride commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a pivotal event in LGBTQ+ history. The annual parade attracts millions, featuring colorful floats, music, and celebrity appearances. Includes the Pride Island music festival.

Toronto Pride (Canada)

  • Date: Entire month of June, culminating in a parade on the last weekend
  • Highlights: Toronto’s Pride Month includes various community events, culminating in one of North America’s largest parades. The festival also features art exhibitions, family-friendly activities, and a street fair in the city’s Church-Wellesley neighborhood.

Miami Beach Pride (USA)

  • Date: April 5th & 6th 2025
  • Highlights: Miami Beach Pride brings together members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, their friends, allies, and supporters in celebration of the unique spirit and culture of the LGBTQ community

Mexico City Pride (Marcha del Orgullo)

  • Date: Usually the last Saturday in June
  • Highlights: This pride parade gathers hundreds of thousands of attendees in the Zócalo and Reforma areas. It’s known for its festive spirit, diverse participants, and a strong message of LGBTQ+ rights in Latin America.

WeHo Pride, West Hollywood (USA)

  • Date: Early June to honor Pride Month
  • Highlights: WeHo Pride is the annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebration held in West Hollywood, California – a major center of LGBTQ+ culture and activism in the United States, with a vibrant community and a long history of support for LGBTQ+ rights.

South America

São Paulo Pride (Brazil)

  • Date: Usually in June
  • Highlights: São Paulo’s parade is one of the largest in the world, drawing millions every year. The event emphasizes LGBTQ+ rights, social equality, and visibility with vibrant, creative floats and electrifying performances along the iconic Paulista Avenue.

Buenos Aires Pride (Marcha del Orgullo) - Argentina

  • Date: November
  • Highlights: Buenos Aires Pride is one of the largest Pride events in Latin America, with festivities that start in the iconic Plaza de Mayo and proceed to the National Congress. The event includes performances, live music, and speeches by activists.

Europe

Pride in London (UK)

  • Date: Usually in late June or early July
  • Highlights: London Pride features a huge parade with themed floats and performances, along with parties and events throughout the city. Trafalgar Square hosts main stage performances, while Soho becomes the heart of nightlife celebrations.

Madrid Pride (Spain)

  • Date: First week of July
  • Highlights: Known as MADO (Madrid Orgullo), this is Europe’s largest pride event. The parade moves through Madrid’s central neighborhoods and includes concerts, art exhibitions, and street parties, making the whole city come alive with celebration.

Berlin Pride (Christopher Street Day) (Germany)

  • Date: Usually late July
  • Highlights: Named after the Stonewall location on Christopher Street, Berlin’s CSD focuses on both celebration and activism. Known for its free-spirited vibe, it includes a parade, speeches, and concerts, with Alexanderplatz as the central gathering spot.

Amsterdam Pride (Netherlands)

  • Date: Early August
  • Highlights: Famous for its Canal Parade, Amsterdam Pride takes place on the city’s waterways. The unique event also includes street parties, cultural events, and an emphasis on LGBTQ+ rights and freedoms.

Maspalomas Winter Pride, Gran Canaria (Spain)

  • Date: November
  • Highlights: Week-long festival all about inclusivity and fun. Free live shows, exciting pool parties at premium venues, fun boat cruises and more. One of the highlight Pride festivals in Europe.

Maspalomas Gay Pride Gran Canaria (Spain)

  • Date: May 
  • Highlights: Maspalomas Pride is a popular event that marks the start of summer in the Canary Islands. The event includes free evening galas, international parties, exhibitions, culture, and hundreds of bars and restaurants. 

Asia

Taipei Pride (Taiwan)

  • Date: Usually in late October
  • Highlights: Taipei hosts Asia’s largest pride event, which has grown significantly in recent years, especially after Taiwan legalized same-sex marriage. It draws LGBTQ+ advocates from across Asia and includes a massive parade and lively celebrations.

Tel Aviv Pride (Israel)

  • Date: Early June
  • Highlights: As the largest pride event in the Middle East, Tel Aviv Pride offers a beachside celebration with a parade, parties, and activities in a city known for its LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere.

Australia

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (Australia)

  • Date: Late February to early March
